What to expect when autonomous vehicles are active at your property
Last updated: June 25, 2026
Context
Autonomous vehicles have started — or are about to start — arriving at your property through Autolane. You want to know what normal looks like day to day.
Answer
Most autonomous vehicle activity at your property is quiet and routine. Here's the baseline.
What a normal arrival looks like
An autonomous vehicle (Waymo, Tesla Robotaxi, and others) approaches a designated Autolane zone, pulls in to pick up or drop off, and leaves — much like any rideshare vehicle, but coordinated through the Autolane Platform so arrivals are orderly rather than ad hoc. A typical stop lasts a couple of minutes. There's no driver to interact with.
What's normal
AVs arriving at and departing from your Autolane zones
Short dwell times while a passenger gets in or out
AVs occasionally stopping elsewhere on your property — at a hotel entrance or a specific storefront — when a passenger requested that destination directly (see Where autonomous vehicles stop on your property)
Quiet periods with no AV activity at all, especially early on
What's worth reporting
An AV blocking a lane, valet area, or emergency access
A near-miss or any safety concern
A tenant or visitor complaint involving an AV
An AV repeatedly stopping in the wrong place
For any of these, see What to do if an autonomous vehicle causes a problem on your property — Autolane has a direct line to AV operators and can escalate on your behalf.
The short version: expect occasional, brief, uneventful AV stops at your zones, building over time. When something unexpected happens, document it and loop in Autolane.
